According to a senior official, Wynn Al Marjan, which is being developed as an integrated gaming resort at Ras Al Khaimah, is slated to cost around $3.9 billion. The resort will create an estimated 7,500 jobs.

His statement continues, “With 80 currently, we expect to reach about 300 at the end of this year. Hiring for the other positions - room attendant, restaurant staff, bartenders, etc. - will begin around September next year. This will be approximately six months before we open our doors in March 2027.”

In total this number adds up to more than 7500 emplyees. Michael Weaver, Chief Communication Officer of Wynn Resorts, provided these details. He also mentioned that they are currently at 45 out of the 70 floors in construction, meaning there are 25000 people on-site daily.

This resort will be the first beach resort as well as the tallest construction in Dubai under the ownership of Wynn Resorts.

The UAE General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) provided the first commercial gaming operators license along with the new facility in the area.

The building will include 1500 hotel rooms,22 restaurants, a marina, and a state of the art spa.

“There is a wide variety of the positions which we will be looking to fill apart from room attendants given that it is like a small city. We are planning on hiring for accounting, finance, IT, and marketing, along with other frontline service positions. We will be conducting training a few months prior to us opening the hotel,” Weaver stated at the Arabian Travel Market 2025 on Tuesday.

Weaver also stated that similar hiring plans would be put into place for the gaming facility, with hiring starting 6 months prior to the facility’s March 2027 opening.

“There is an expected mix of both foreign tourists and residents which is good for us as a property.” Weaver said.

“We will have one group of local people that will want to get away for a staycation. But clearly, we are a destination resort, and we're in the tourism business. A healthy percentage, the vast majority of our customers, will come from all over the world, spend India, and Europe, Russia and Central Europe.”

He elaborated that tourists coming from outside the country stay for a remarkably long period of time.”

"When they come to the UAE, the visitors will spend a week, and those going on stays will spend roughly 3 to 4 days. For places like Las Vegas, the average stay is about 2.3 days. Here, it will be much longer. The rooms are designed to have ample closet space to pack for longer stays.”

Gaming and packages

To a question about what gaming options will be provided at the hotel, he answered that the UAE regulator GCGRA will decide what games can be offered.

Regardless, all Wynn's integrated resorts offer ubiquitous gaming. Their chief communications officer expects it will be the same Wynn destinations around the world. “We hope to have those same games. At the end of the day, it’s really up to the regulators.”

He clarified that visitors will come to experience all the property amenities, not just the gaming."

"At all of our resorts, gaming experience is just one of many other amenities. People will come to enjoy all the amenities, of which gaming will be one part… I don't think you'll have people coming just for the gaming experience. They'll be surrounded by so many other things."

The hotel will unveil its advertising strategies three to six months before the opening date, including room rates, sale campaigns, and promotional packages.

"There will be packages that will be created to accommodate people who want to enjoy a dining experience, a night clubbing experience or a beach club experience, combined with a hotel room. There will be Shows created specifically for this location and combine, on these packages, addons which will include gaming, hotel stays and many more. The arrangement for a destination resort like this, pretty much the food and entertainment is bundled with the accommodation,” he observed.

Responsible gaming.

Weaver noted that is an area that the UAE regulator GCGRA has also stressed responsible gaming in the country. “For us, this is something the GCGRA has highlighted and brings a whole level of scrutiny under.”

“All employees at Wynn are trained annually on responsible gaming and how to recognize anyone gaming for a prolonged period instead of enjoying it. This includes employees on the frontline. We have additional frontline staff who tell us that this guest may have a problem. These employees are allowed to approach the guest and explain the different options available for them,” he said.

Competition

Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billing earlier this year, while discussing competition, dismissed any foreboding thoughts regarding UAE sprawled westwards granting a license to Wynn competitors for constructing another integrated gaming resort in the country.

A Wynn Resorts Communications Coo. said, “There’s unabated for interest. Everyone is interested in the UAE for a number of reasons. It is a marvelous place to do business. It's a wonderful hospitable and a healthy place to do business. All with a world-class, best-practices incentivized regulatory framework.”

He added that the UAE will also get it’s guaranteed share of population within an 8-hour flight window to dubai considering the enormous percentage of the world’s population that will be availed with.

The Miami Downtown Development Authority is working very hard to make this region the right choice for any business, and especially for a destination resort. That's why we're so, so thrilled to be here.
