UAE: New charging fees for electric vehicles to start from January 2025
Government-owned EV charging network UAEV on Thursday said its tariffs would start enforcing in January 2025. The revised price will be Dh1.20 per kWh, VAT included, for DC chargers and Dh0.70 per kWh, VAT inclusive, for AC chargers.
These tariffs are also a great start in terms of the EV charging infrastructure’s sustainability and scale. But it is important to mention that EV charging is still free from the tariffs being rolled out since they first launched in May.
UAEV is also launching a mobile app with access to the next charging station location, real-time status and simple payment options.
With the app, UAEV is also launching a 24/7 call centre to give you immediate support and help so you don’t experience any inconvenience at all.
"Standardised charging tariffs and the introduction of new features such as the UAEV app and 24/7 support are just examples of our commitment to the EV driver experience. We are making the cleaner greener future possible by enhancing our network and supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy," said Sharif al Olama, Chairman of UAEV.
With 1,000 chargers across UAEV’s network by 2030, they will be spread across cities, highways and transit stations in the UAE. The main destinations will be spread across all emirates so inter-city and intracity EV riders will be included.
