UAE extends 14-day exit pass for visa amnesty
The measures taken by the UAE government will afford overstayers the chance to leave the country at their pace, says top official.
UAE authorities announced on Tuesday that overstayers who were able to benefit from the visa amnesty have until October 31 to leave the country owing to the country's visa back.
In the past, the artificial exit found at the disposal of the amnesty seeker's wa's valid for not more than fourteen days, but no, such exit is made possible as this amnesty lasts an officer confirmed.
Salem Bin Ali, director of client happiness department whilst addressing the audience said that the UAE Government has withheld the earlier rules levied upon excessive stayers with regards to their timelines when departing.
“Earlier, those who availed of the amnesty needed to exit within 14 days from the day it was granted, this period is no more. Costing the official said, however, extends the amnesty thereon,” official said.
The period an amnesty-seeker is to be away from the country should be written out clearly on the outpass statue so that they can exit the country at any of these periods, he said.
Lt-Gen Bin Ali, however, called on those who have overstayed to do so at their earliest opportunity and that for those who do, they should be prepared to pay more for their tickets since congestion in travel will be expected in the winter period.
“Airfare would be higher during the winter season; thus, amnesty-seekers should not delay in their departure,” he remarked.
This program grants permission to overstayers to remain in the undertaking and to exit the UAE without punishment and start afresh.
