Here's the KHDA's response.

According to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), it did no longer announce any college holidays notwithstanding heavy rains inside the emirate remaining year. However, there has been no dearth of hopes for a holiday from kids!

In the ultra-modern Education Landscape Report, the KHDA said a total of 16,604 social media messages came from students asking for a day without work in the course of the rains.

The Dubai airport received an annual average rainfall of 77.4mm final year. The UAE noticed a record quantity of rain this January, with many Dubai colleges shutting down to clean water-logged campuses and ensure protection of children.

The KHDA lets in Dubai schools to decide independently whether to stay open or closed beneath such circumstances. However, they're required to make up for the lost days and get approval from the authority on how they plan to do so.

During the rains, one student tagged KHDA on Twitter and stated: "Forecast looking ruff so cancel college pls." To which KHDA replied: "Your spelling's even ruffer. Best you go to high school."

Another student said: "I had faculty on Sunday. Please provide us another day where all colleges closed." And KHDA replied: "That way you're an entire day smarter than everyone who stayed home gaming."

And one more pupil stated: "The forecast says it will be raining closely tonight, and I've were given an exam to write tomorrow, vacation or no?". KHDA replied pronouncing the scholar should ask the college's principal."

But students appear to experience KHDA's witty tweets, with one student announcing: "I ain't going to high school tomorrow no matter what. Until or except I get some replies on this or maybe simply one if it's by @KHDA."
