Emirates Chennai-Dubai flight lands safely despite technical delay
The plane got cleared for takeoff in India. After inspection, it left for Emirates' journey from Chennai to Dubai. But there was a hitch. They found a technical problem, said the airline evening. The hang-up caused a delay. It was more than two hours. Finally, it touched down in Dubai. But it was late. It passed midnight when it arrived at the Dubai International Airport.
On September 24, 2024, Emirates flight EK547 route Chennai-Dubai hit a technical snag. Experts checked the plane and gave the go-ahead to Dubai," the airline reporter said.
"We're sorry for the upset caused. Passenger and crew safety is our top priority," the statement read.
Reports from Indian press and online clips showed smoke appearing from the tail of the 280-passenger plane, causing a stir that Tuesday night at the airport.
The air lane between UAE and India tops the charts for busiest air routes. Airlines boast of having an extremely high number of filled seats, usually between 80-90 percent. The main reason for this is the flood of Indian citizens who reside and earn their livelihood in the UAE. They form over a third of the entire UAE population.
Also, Dubai magnetizes many Indian tourists every year. Both UAE and Indian airlines have been pleading for more flight frequencies to handle the escalating passenger flow between the two nations.
