Dubai travel: Airport tips as DXB expects 5.2 million guests in 2 weeks
Residents of the UAE flying out of Dubai during the winter holidays are reminded to be careful on the airport journey as Dubai International (DXB) prepares for a huge number of travellers. Over 5.2 million travelers are estimated to pass through DXB from 13 December to 31 December, according to the latest statistics released Thursday.
The biggest day is expected to be the airport on December 20 (Friday) with almost 296,000 visitors. It will also be the most busy weekend between December 20-22 as well with 880,000 visitors. There might be an average of 274,000 passengers entering and leaving DXB daily over the holiday season.
So many people are to be expected, so passengers should be prepared and adhere to travel regulations for a pleasant journey:

-
With passport control being streamlined by the smart gates for families with children under 12 years old.
"Offering the same stellar travel experience DXB is known for during high-peak travel hours is never easy, but one we are ready to overcome through close cooperation within the oneDXB family," said Essa Al Shamsi, senior vice-president of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports.
The rush would not be a deal-breaker for DXB passengers as they can have a little celebration.
"The Family Zone at Terminal 3 will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with an all-new carollers and beatboxers combination show, a Magic Station gift-wrapping and photo station, Nutcracker marching band, and much more," Al Shamsi said.
"These activities are geared to surprise and excite, leaving every experience with DXB something special."
