Dubai resident wins Dh20-million prize in Big Ticket draw
Dubai-based Bangladeshi expat Jahangir Alom claimed Dh20 million from the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket lottery on March 3. Ticket number 134468 purchased on February 11 brought Jahangir good fortune.
The shipbuilding industry worker who is 44 years old has been residing in Dubai for six years while his family stays at home. For the last three years he has been buying monthly Big Ticket draw entries together with a group of 14 friends.
My prayer session was interrupted by the incoming call. My friend delivered the amazing news when I returned outside. Since then, I’ve been overwhelmed with joy. The victory holds extra significance for me because it represents the achievement of 14 friends along with their families as well, explained Jahangir.
The draw event gained an extra special touch when Ashik Patinharath appeared as February 3's grand prize winner. A month after his big win, Ashik Patinharath had the privilege of choosing today's winner which added a meaningful touch to Jahangir's Dh20-million prize.
Jahangir plans to use his portion of the winnings to establish a small business in Dubai and involve his friends in the endeavor. "I will definitely keep buying tickets. My story should motivate others to risk taking the leap and join this extraordinary adventure.
The grand prize of Dh15 million will be awarded to one fortunate ticket holder in March. The live draw event on April 3, 2025 will award Dh50,000 to each of its 10 lucky winners.
Customers buying two or more cash tickets in one transaction from March 1 to 25 will get to enter the Spin-the-Wheel game. Four selected participants will have the opportunity to spin the wheel during the live draw on April 3 and they will receive cash prizes that range between Dh20,000 and Dh150,000. Big Ticket will reveal the names of the four winners on their website on April 1, 2025.
The March promotion enables luxury vehicle enthusiasts to compete for a Range Rover Velar which will be awarded to a winner on May 3, 2025. Customers can purchase tickets through the website www.bigticket.ae or at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport ticket counters.
