Buying Christmas gifts is very difficult at the best of times - but we imagine it would be near impossible to get something for professional footballers as these multi-millionaires very likely already have everything money can buy!

But, Christmas came a few days early this year for Real Madrid’s first team squad as club sponsor Audi gifted each of them a brand new car.

Zinedine Zidane and his players were all smiles thanks to the German carmaker, which gifts the team every year, and each of the super stars were allowed to pick the exact model car they wanted - and in their favourite colour too.

For the second consecutive year, captain Sergio Ramos chose the most expensive model available – a Audi A8 50 TDI Quattro Tiptronic finished in Lunar Blue. It has a retail price of over Dh430,000.

Manager of the Spanish giants, Zidane, went for the cheapest option – a Dh325,000 RS 3 Sportback TFSI Quattro S-tronic painted Mythos black. Striker Karim Benzema and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois joined their manager in opting for the RS 3 Sportback but in different colours.

The most popular choice was the Q7 50 TDI, selected by 11 of the team. Indeed stars Brahim Diaz, Luka Jovic, Mariano, Luka Modric, Rodrygo, Casemiro, Ferland Mendy, Gareth Bale, Isco, Alphonse Areola and Eder Militao all opted for the Q7 with silver and grey the most popular hues chosen - but Raphael Varane decided to stand out from the crowd and took hold of a E-Tron 55 finished in cherry red because, why not?

The players were presented their new cars as part of their annual ceremony at this time of year. Real currently sit second in La Liga behind leaders Barcelona and will be hoping the new set of wheels will put them in the driving seat as they challenge for the league title and Champions League success too.
