Abu Dhabi lists barbecue rules, designated areas as winter approaches

Abu Dhabi’s municipality has designated approximately 253 places across 28 parks and gardens, on and off the island, for barbecue activities.

With the drop in temperatures, residents and tourists are likely to frequent public parks around the UAE. Barbecue season has begun and to avoid any disturbances to the environment, Abu Dhabi’s Municipality has informed people to stick to the barbeque areas created for them.

The authority urged the users to make use of such places and facilities for BBQs while keeping the park clean, avoiding unnecessary deforestation and littering.

Concrete slabs are provided by the municipality for barbeque so that it is properly done and no harm is done to the environment. The area also provides bins for waste and used charcoal remnants.

The authority said it has designated about 253 places for barbecue within 28 parks and gardens inside and outside Abu Dhabi Island. The municipality further specified the outdoor spots that house these areas.

• Al Bairaq Park

• Burjeel Park

• Al Shamkha Square

• Al Fanous Park in Al Shamkha City

• Rabdan Park

• Al Rahba Square

• Al Wathba Park

• Al Salamiya Park

The authority ran an awareness campaign 'Enjoy your barbecue and preserve your place', which included all areas and cities within the geographical scope of the municipality's jurisdiction.
