On Wednesday, UAE authorities announced the arrest of three men in Ras Al Khaimah following a police raid on two warehouses involved in counterfeit operations. The raid resulted in the seizure of over 650,000 items, including 'branded' lipsticks, shampoos, and other cosmetics, all valued at approximately Dh23 million. These items, however, were discovered to be counterfeit, highlighting the scale of the operation. The confiscated goods were intended to deceive consumers into purchasing fake products as genuine, raising significant concerns about consumer protection and the illicit trade of counterfeit goods in the region.

The successful operation was launched shortly after the police received a crucial tip-off from the Economic Development Department. Acting on this information, authorities conducted the raid and apprehended three Arab suspects involved in the counterfeit operation.

These individuals have been referred to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings. The collaboration between the police and the Economic Development Department was instrumental in disrupting this major counterfeit scheme.

Col. Omar Al Oud Al Tineji, director of the Criminal Investigations and Investigative Affairs Department, detailed that upon receiving a tip-off from the Economic Development Department, his team swiftly formed a specialized task force. This team meticulously monitored the suspected warehouses over several days.

During their surveillance, they observed various suspicious activities related to loading and storing goods, which raised concerns about the legitimacy of the operations. Their diligent efforts and close observation ultimately led to the successful raid and seizure of counterfeit products, highlighting the effectiveness of their investigative procedures.

Brig. Ahmed Said Mansoor, Acting Director General of Police Operations, commended the collaborative efforts of the involved teams. He highlighted the success of the operation and reaffirmed Ras Al Khaimah Police's commitment to maintaining national security and ensuring the safety of both citizens and residents. His remarks underscored the ongoing vigilance and dedication of the police force in protecting the community from criminal activities.

He emphasized that the authority will take firm and decisive measures against individuals or groups seeking to undermine the country’s security and stability. Those who attempt to disrupt the nation’s economic integrity or threaten the safety of its residents will face stringent consequences. The commitment to safeguarding the nation’s well-being and maintaining public trust remains unwavering.
