UAE: Bharat Mart to open doors in 2026; initial phase to cover 1.3 million sqft

A big establishment showcasing Indian products will be made operational by end of 2026. Spread over more than 2.7 million sq. ft. of retail, showrooms and warehousing space, Bharat Mart will be situated within Bharat Industrial Zone (BIZ) in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and will redefine the way Indian goods reach the African, Mid East and Eurasia markets.
The announcement followed UAE Vision 2071 as Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum concluded his maiden official tour to India, with the intention of bolstering relations between both the nations.
Bharat Mart is a B2B and B2C marketplace in Dubai that aims to facilitate trade between Indian businesses and the global markets and is often compared to the Chinese Dragon Mart.
DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said construction of the facility was already underway.
"For buyers and visitors from our region, the GCC, as well as Africa, Bharat Mart is a place to see, touch and fulfil their requirement for Indian products in their nation," he said. "This is a sort of action for collaboration of the Government."
The company showcased the model of the virtual project in front of Sheikh Hamdan, and India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
Sheikh Hamdan said: "As India expands its global trade, Dubai's world-class infrastructure and connectivity make it an indispensable collaborator. "The Bharat Mart will complement the UAE-India partnership as Indian goods will have swifter access to world markets, with more than 2,300 Indian firms operating in Jafza and non-oil bilateral trade surging,"
DP World said the facility is expected to bring a major transformation in India's existing export poten tial and Piyush Goyal termed it as a "transformative project" and appreciated the efforts of DP World in cre ating new opportunities and enabling Indian businesses to reach to African markets.
Bharat Mart, spread over 2.7 million square feet (phase 1 comprising 1.3 million square feet) will be the trading hub of the Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The 1,500 showroom facility to be equipped with more than 700,000 square foot of high-end warehousing, light industrial units, offices and meeting facilities will be strategically located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). It will also have a special section to feature women-led businesses as part of Bharat Mart.
Bharat Mart will provide Indian companies access to a multimodal logistics network located 11km from Jebel Ali Port, 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport and with easy access to Etihad Rail.
Using the Jebel Ali ecosystem, the exporters will be linked to 150 maritime destination, plus air connectivity taking the facility to 300 cities worldwide, significantly increasing the range for business and efficiency.
