This Dubai cafe sells Dh1.99 chai alongside Dh5,000 gold karak with silver cup
According to the owners, they wish to provide something unique, both in terms of pricing and experience.
The problem with this new location is that they have an interminable menu of things to offer which includes a Karak tea for a mere Dh1.99 and a gold Kark tea which is priced at an astounding Dh5,000 that is served in a silver cup.
The new cafe ‘Boho’ which is situated in the Emirates Financial Towers came up with the Indian styles of cuisine complemented with a touch of Indian Street food and Indian royalty on Sunday when they unveiled their Indian bulk of the restaurant’s menu.
According to owner's Suchitra Sharma, this is how they optimise their ability to service their market: There’s nothing this affordable in this vicinity and we wanted to fill that gap. Our international menu remains popular with Russian clients and we are keeping that unchanged. Out of approximately 11 500 professionals working in DIFC around 6500 of those are Indian professionals. So we are in a way catering to Indian tastes.
It’s however Boho’s ‘royal menu’ which has grabbed so many people’s attention. Gold karak tea for Dh150 is the most basic of their offerings but for those seeking the highest possible quality, the company provides Gold Souvenir Karak tea and souvinior Khafi at Dh5000 each including a silver cup and saucer to take home. Other gilded pleasures include Gold coffee (Dh150), Gold water (Dh300), Gold burger (Dh300), Gold Ice Cream (Dh400) — all laced with 24K eatable gold.
“This is not about creating a show,” she said. “We do care to bring something different — in price and in experience. The gold infused items are for self-pampering but at the same time we do serve good food, very economical for everyone else.”
