Dubai RTA commences testing of intelligent vehicles for monitoring rail right-of-way
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started testing smart inspection vehicles to oversee rail right-of-way areas for the Dubai Metro and Tram networks.
Equipped with cutting-edge intelligence systems and cameras, these vehicles are able to identify violations, prohibited activities, and damages in the specified areas. The project, initiated in collaboration with the Smart Services Department, seeks to simplify daily inspection tasks, boost safety, and enhance the effectiveness of rail services.
Abdulrahman Al Janahi, who is the Director of Rail Right of Way at RTA’s Rail Agency, stressed that this technology will improve inspection effectiveness and guarantee the dependability of the rail infrastructure. The intelligent inspection vehicle uses AI to stay up-to-date with rail network developments, offering thorough coverage, prompt reporting, and decreased human errors during inspections.

The goal of the project is to increase the speed of creating inspection reports by two times and guarantee precise decision-making with dependable results. The goal of the initiative is to improve daily inspection processes for all rail areas connected to the Dubai Metro and Tram networks by using advanced technology systems.
