Adab’s government will run on artificial intelligence (AI) by 2027 — everything automated and all cloud computing in place, authorities said Tuesday as the emirate unveiled its technology roadmap.

The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027 has given the emirate Dh13 billion in order to be the world’s first ‘fully AI-native government’. This dream will be carried out by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) along with other local government organizations.

Besides shifting operations and services, the project is projected to create over 5,000 jobs that will help Emiratisation as well as inject over Dh24 billion into Abu Dhabi’s GDP, the emirate’s state media said.

"If we etch AI, the cloud and insights into our government’s DNA, we will transform public services, make government efficient and stimulate long-term economic development," said Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE).
A single digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) system will automate processes and improve efficiency and productivity in the local government.

The Abu Dhabi government is training and equipping its population with AI applications as part of its ‘AI for All programme’. Furthermore, over 200 smart AI technologies will be adopted in government operations. Meanwhile, high-end digital policies will be enforced to guarantee the best cybersecurity.
