DSF 2023: Drones, Lights, and Mega Raffles Illuminate Dubai
Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is set to dazzle the city with a spectacular array of events, including drone shows, light installations, and more, from December 8 to January 14. Going beyond the realm of traditional shopping festivals, DSF's 29th edition promises a multifaceted experience for residents and visitors alike.
One of the key attractions is the "Dubai Lights" public art show, offering attendees a visual feast of lighting installations across various locations. Among the highlights is the presence of Anooki, inflatable characters designed by French artists Moetu Batlle and David Passegand. These larger-than-life characters will illuminate Al Seef and d3, acting as ambassadors for environmental awareness.
Another mesmerizing feature is the "Journey of Lights," where approximately 40 of Dubai's traditional boats, known as abras, will illuminate the Creek with neon lighting, creating a magical waterfront experience. The "World of Neon" at the old Gold Souk invites visitors to explore a marketplace adorned with vibrant neon signs.
For those seeking a walkable visual delight, the West Beach in Palm Jumeirah will showcase intricate installations inspired by the Amazon rainforest. Life-size representations of Amazonian parrots and floral artwork will contribute to a captivating stroll along the beach.
A highlight of this year's DSF is the drone show, touted as the "most sensational" yet. Commencing from December 10 and running until January 14, over 800 drones will light up the sky over Bluewaters twice every evening. The drones will perform a captivating dance, narrating two stories—one about the significance of the Pearl in Dubai and the other about an Emirati space explorer embarking on a futuristic journey through a portal.
The festival offers attendees the chance to participate in exciting raffle draws with enticing prizes. IDEALZ DSF grand prize offers a substantial Dh2 million, the DSF mega raffle presents the opportunity to drive away with a brand-new Nissan Patrol V6, and the Dubai Jewellery Group raffle will see 300 shoppers winning a total of 25kg of gold.
Adding to the automotive allure, the Dubai Police Carnival, scheduled for January 4-8 at City Walk, will feature an impressive lineup of vehicles for visitors to admire. Additionally, the Emirates Classic Vehicles Fest will contribute to the vibrant automotive ambiance during DSF.
Beyond the shopping extravagance, DSF has curated a diverse range of experiences, blending technology, art, and entertainment to create an unforgettable celebration for everyone in attendance.
