Why some UAE visit visas could be getting rejected
Most rejected visit visas are because they did not have return ticket, hotel booking, proof of funds etc. — this is how travel executives report it happens.
The immigration officials of UAE require any visitors coming in the country with a visit visa to bring adequate funds, hotel or residence proof and return flights before the expiry of the tourist visa.
"As a non-immigrant the UAE is relatively free. But there are plenty who migrate into the UAE and go to work. UAE government doesn’t want these two types of people to mix up, so real tourists, they want you to come in, see this beautiful nation and go before visit visa time is up," said Rikin Sheth, assistant vice president.
Media in India, Pakistan and South Asia, social media sites alleged visit visa rejections from the UAE.
Millions of tourists come to the UAE — and in large numbers, Dubai — every year. In order to make the quality of tourist that visit UAE and other countries developed in the world, some of the laws are set up for tourists to satisfy to obtain the country’s visit visas. In January-July 2024, 10.62 million visitors visited Dubai, up more than 8 per cent.
Why do visas get rejected?
The biggest reason why visas are rejected is that dummy flight and hotel bookings are provided, which aren’t verified at the visa stage, said Sheras Sharaf, operations manager at Arab World Tourism.
"Improperly or incomplete supporting documentation like proof of funds, approved itinerary, or confirmed lodging details also play a role. We see officials more closely searching for candidates who could overstay their visas," Sharaf added.
Sheth said there was a lot of fear that tourist visas were rejected, but if a true tourist want to come to Dubai for short holiday he/she will need to bring the actual documents and there will be no rejection.
"Just have your valid return ticket, proof of accommodation (hotel or relative’s house) and enough money. Most importantly, they must get out as per the actual amount of days he/she has been allowed to stay in the country and come back to UAE," Musafir’s assistant vice president said.
The UAE was too kind, sheth said, and now they want travel agents to ensure that when calling parents, family, cousins or siblings they include actual hotel reservations or tenancy contracts of the tourists’ immediate relatives with the proof of funds.

Rikin Sheth urged the UAE tourist to go with a Travel Agent who is famous and can provide you with correct information regarding visa and immigration services in Emirates.
‘Now travel agencies are training individuals to include real hotel rooms and flight numbers. If you submit real papers to immigration, why will the authorities turn you away? That is why the approval rate has really spiked this week," he said.
